1-day And 8-day Cuckoo Clocks - What Are The Difference?

Many different types of cuckoo clocks operate with different types of processes. In many cases the owner of one of these clocks will need to pull up the clock's weights over a certain period of time. The clocks that work under this form of maintenance are 1-day and 8-day cuckoo clocks. These operate with weights and will need maintenance every day or week depending on what type of clock it is.

The way that one of these types of cuckoo clocks works is that the clock will work to tell time through the use of weights. These weights are ones that are found underneath the clock. These weights are shaped like tree cones and are made of heavy iron materials. A weight will move in that over time it will react according to the pressure that is created through the other weights that are underneath the clock. This works to help with getting the clock to move properly and to get the mechanics of the clock to operate in a proper way.

When the weights are hanging at the way bottom part of the clock this means that the weights will need to be pushed back up. This is so that the mechanics of the clock will be able to work again and as a result the clock will be able to continue to operate properly.

While it is true that these clocks do require maintenance through handling the weights over time these are considered by many to be pure types of cuckoo clocks. This is because unlike modern cuckoo clocks that work with quartz batteries 1-day and 8-day clocks work with designs and processes similar to that of the earliest types of cuckoo clocks.

The main difference between the 1-day and 8-day types of cuckoo clocks is that there are different times when these clocks will need to have their weights pulled up properly. For a 1-day cuckoo clock the weights will need to be pulled up every twenty-four hours. For an 8-day clock the weights will only need to be handled once every week.

One difference that can be found in some of these clocks is that of when the cuckoo clock's music box goes off. For 1-day clocks the music will begin to play out of the clock at both the top and bottom of the hour. For 8-day clocks the music will only play at the top of each hour.

1-day and 8-day Cuckoo Clocks are unique types of cuckoo clocks to check out.
